Family Event Details
Here are some details about events:
- Single day family events are considered for guests who have reserved the minimum number of nights for that time of year.
- Bachelor and Bachelorette parties are not permitted.
- Use of the home for overnight stays is limited to the booked guests.
- Any event guests who stay overnight are to be included on the reservation as booked guests.
- All events must be a direct booking. The stay can be booked through a booking site, but the event cannot. Either way a reservation agreement will be needed that covers both the stay and the event details. Most of are regular bookings are direct bookings simply because you save a lot on booking fees that third-party sites charge. All of our past event bookings have been direct bookings.
- There is an event fee based upon the number of guests.
- Events for up to 30 guests require a $1,500 event fee
- Events up to 50 guests require a $2,000 event fee
- Event up to 70 guests require a $2,500 event fee
- We typically limit events to 70 or 80 people, so if you are inviting more but think the actual number of attendees will be closer to that, or at least under 100, we will certainly try to be accommodating.
7. We do permit and facilitate early access for tent suppliers and caterers, if possible.
8. Events require rental of a porta-potty(s). Kennebunkport homes are on private well and septic systems, so you don’t want to overload the septic during your event. It can take over a week to get it serviced if it gets overwhelmed. There are luxury units available, as opposed to job-site portable toilets. We don’t have a required number, but for smaller events one will do. Larger events should have one for the ladies and one for the guys. Very small events can be accommodated by having the kids and the men to use the porta-potty, while the ladies use the house.
9. A dumpster or trash receptacle is required. It can be delivered far from the home, but you will need one on-site and street-side pickup of trash is limited to two cans and is 1/4 mile from the house - out on the main road.
10. We provide parking at the property and overflow parking at another of our properties 2 miles away. Typically, you can fit 15-20 cars along our extended driveway and an additional parking area that we have on the property. In some cases, more vehicles will fit if it’s managed well. Alternately, you can shuttle from our other property 2 miles away.
11. Music at a reasonable volume is permitted, but quiet time is 8:30 p.m.
12: No fireworks, balloon releases or water balloons are permitted. Please make sure helium balloons are popped and discarded at the end of the event, and not released.
